It is a shortened version of the original, intended for submission to the VCLW "Goldie" Award. It was nominated but did not win. It is an improved version of the original in that it, I think, better captures the drama and tragedy of the event.

 I just posted another Beyond the Gates segment that I produced. It was filmed in mid-July and is  airing this month (August) on Village TV.  Here is the synopsis of the segmen (from my YouTube Channel): This is a segment, which I produced, that deals with two Laguna Beach artists, Chris Justice and Vladimir KUSH and a Laguna Beach Art Studio called "Coast Gallery". We interview the artists, take a look at some of their work, and tour the "Coast", which has an extensive and very interesting collection of local artists' work.

 Finally! After months of dealing with a complete, down-to-the-studs renovation of our new home and then moving in, I have found the time to complete a new, albeit short project. We had a very destructive fire up here in Laguna Niguel a couple of months back that came to within a half mile of our new home. It was called the "Coastal Fire" and the wind-driven inferno destroyed twenty multi-million dollar homes and damaged eleven more. This is a video essay about that fire. The YouTube link is here:

 I just added a short video showing the actual presentation (as opposed to the entire hour plus long ceremony) of the Legacy Leadership Award to my grandson Luke Friedl.  Recently uploaded a short film on my train ride from Burbank to San Juan Capistrano....very relaxing and fun....I LOVE train travel!

 I've just posted a short video, VCLW member Fred Harshbarger, called The Filming of "Hole in One in Laguna Woods". Its purpose is to familiarize viewers with the process of making a movie as carried out by the production arm of our club, Video One Productions. I was ‘Cam B” camera operator on the project.
